The Environmental Fund is an economic-financial instrument intended to support and implement projects and programs for the protection of the environment and to achieve the objectives of the European Union in the field of the environment and climate change. The Environmental Fund is established and managed in accordance with the legal provisions. The revenue and expenditure budget of the Environmental Fund and the administration of the Environmental Fund is approved annually by a decision of the Government, at the proposal of the public authority plans for environmental protection. The Fund administration can collaborate with the administrative-territorial units or the administrative-territorial subdivisions of the municipalities, that are the final beneficiaries of the financing from the Fund, through multiyear delegation contracts concluded with them, in order to jointly run the projects and programs for the protection of the environment. The Fund's administration publishes annually, on its own website, the list of economic operators, registered as contributors to the Environmental Fund.
