This Regulation sets the conditions, criteria and method of granting the Croatian State aid (compensation scheme granting non-repayable financial funds) for damage done to the carp fish aquaculture ponds present on the territory of the Repuiblic of Croatian, if deriving from different species of birds, here defined for the year 2019.
This kind of aid is in accordance with the principle and provisions of the Guidelines for State aid in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
The aid shall be granted only in the event of damage that is caused by species protected in accordance with Annex I to Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on the conservation of wild birds; Annex II of the Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora; or Annex II and Annex III of the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats.
Also the Regulation (EU) No 508/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 May 2014 on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and repealing Council Regulations (EC) No 2328/2003, (EC) No 861/2006, (EC) No 1198/2006 and (EC) No 791/2007 and Regulation (EU) No 1255/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council, is indicated as reference text setting the criteria for eligibility. Detailed eligibility conditions are listed in article 4.
