The ordinance establishes the rules for cost allocation concerning the collection, delivery, disposal, and safe elimination of fallen animals (those killed or deceased not in slaughterhouses) in Steiermark. Costs are initially borne by municipalities based on actual collected fallen animals, converted into livestock units (GVEs) by species and age category.
