This Decision prohibits the introduction into or spread within the European Union of the genus Pomacea (Perry), which causes harmful effects on aquatic plants. To this end, it establishes the requirements to be met by plants for planting, excluding seeds, that can only grow in water or soil that is permanently saturated with water, originating in third countries, in order to be introduced into the European Union.
