This Regional Act defines the conditions under which the hunting, killing and capture of certain wild birds may be allowed by way of derogation from the conservation measures laid down in Act No. 157 of 1992. This derogation shall be based on: (a) the interests of public health and safety; (b) the interests of air safety; (c) the need to prevent serious damage to crops, livestock, forests, fisheries and water; (d) the need to protect flora and fauna; or (e) purposes of research and teaching, repopulation or reintroduction of species. The Act also lays down particular capture prohibitions and restrictions that shall apply in Special Protecion Zones.
